Some additonal links from Clarence Demchuk:

  • Expanding square: Used 3 items Oziexplorer, Etopo digital maps and SHQ plotting program written by Bill Dunn CASARA Ottawa.

  • The E-Trex series cradles are $10 plus free scrap wood and office paper clip.

  • Digital Topo Maps from Spectrum by Gord Hamm from BC. Western Canada set called AB-SK-MB covers from about Peachland BC-to-Argon ON 123nm south east of Dryden along the CPR mainline.  But latest catalogue shows Gord separated Manitoba from AB-SK as two different CDs.  Spectrum topo 250K scale similar digital tiles as Etopo and as accurate but also has larger scale area maps 1000000:1 scale (91.7nm screen width) useful to plot larger area CSADs then overlay plot on 250000:1 scale (22.6nm screen width) for search.      http://www.mapsdigital.com/
